2018 CFPC Summer Insect and Disease Field Tour – Save the Date!!
Date and Time: JULY 17th, 8:30 – 5:00
Location: Collins Pine Parking Lot, 500 Main St., Chester, CA 96020. Parking lot map where we are meeting in the morning.
Agenda: This 1-day field tour intended for private and consulting foresters as well as state and federal government employees who will benefit from an up-to-date understanding of insects and pathogens that affect CA forest health. This includes staff in forestry, wildlife, recreation, ecology, botany, fire, fuels, etc. Possible discussion topics include: Blackstain root disease, Elytroderma Needle Blight, Heterobasidion Root Disease (pine and fir site), Dwarf mistletoe (white fir), White pine blister rust, Ips engraver, beetles , Red turpentine beetle (fresh infestations), Mountain pine beetle (active in ponderosa pine), Western pine beetle , Fir engraver, California flatheaded borer in Jeffrey pine.
Cost: There is no charge for the training.
